Cremo Body Wash Bourbon & Oak - Review
Because nothing says MANLY more than Bourbon & Oak. First thing, anything with the words Bourbon written on it, that doesn't have Bourbon in it, that ends up in your basket, could be a sign you're drinking too much Bourbon. That said, the name did the trick.
About Cremo
Cremo Co. LLC launched in 2005 in Laguna Beach, California, when founders Mike Boone and Kyle Schroeder brought to the mass marketplace superior shave cream – a unique shave cream formula that would transform the dreaded daily ordeal into a reliable, repeatable, enjoyable ritual.
In September 2020, Edgewell announced it was acquiring the shaving products brand CREMO for an all-cash transaction of $235 million. The acquisition was completed in September 2020.
The bottle is almost shaped like a bottle of bourbon, though it's plastic sadly. This particular product looks to have old labelling on it. On the website it's been completely rebranded to make it look more like Gin and Oak.
It's described as,
A masculine scent with a tantalising essence of lively distiller's spices, smoked bourbon and oak in a rich, lathering body wash. This perfectly-balanced, premium formula helps keep you clean and thoroughly moisturised.
I have to confess, this body wash smells amazing. And not at all synthesised. It's super thick and it lathers up thick and lasts a long time. I'm coming to the end of the bottle now and with one shower a day, I'd say one bottle per month is a decent return. I actually look forward to showering now. And yes I am still doing my cold showers. One minute every day.
My only gripe is that the soap is hard to get out of the bottle sometimes. The plastic is very hard and not entirely squeezable. Perhaps that's different with the updated designs.
Final thoughts
I echo Joseph Deacetis who wrote in Forbes:
Cremo is a do it all brand that does everything well at a great price point. It is one of the extraordinary ironies of grooming that men are not censored for employing grooming aids and tricks to make themselves more handsome and dynamic in appearance.
This would make for a gift for a friend who you know is both into grooming and drinking copious amounts of Bourbon. If he happens to be a lumberjack, (Oak tie-in) then by God, you've hit the jackpot.
Available in cologne also in case you need to mask the fact you've been drinking bourbon at 11am.
