Top 5 Rotary Henley Watches
The people that have followed my blog will know of my love affair for Rotary Watches. If you need a catch up of my collection so far I I have kept a log in this article here. Today I'm going to give you a run-down of favourite top 5 Henley watches (including my new Henley Seamatic) from the Rotary portfolio in no particular order. Henley blends a sporting aesthetic with the everyday and offers the wearer useful functions that relate to specific sporting activities such as diving or travel.
The Henley Seamatic
I'm excited to talk about my Henley Seamatic which was kindly gifted to me by Rotary in exchange for a review. First thing to note is that the yellow dial is something very different and will certainly standout amongst others in my collection. In fact it gives this watch that unique quality that so few other watches have. I keep wanting to look at it. Even sitting here at my desk typing this, I pause momentarily and just look at it. I rotate my wrist to give every angle of light an opportunity to dance with the sapphire crystal glass.
The yellow is solid, but not like a luminous yellow (although it displays luminous indices and open hour/minute hands). It's not the high visibility yellow that I associate with construction or traffic cones. It's more subtle and nuanced. It's a dialled back yellow, pun intended. This Henley Seamatic divers watch features a stainless steel case and 3 link bracelet, which is secured by a Divers Z clasp for optimised security. It also hosts a cyclops magnifier over the date window. This timepiece also features a black unidirectional bezel, and on the side of the 42mm case is a crown and crown guard. Powered by a reliable Miyota 8215 movement, the watch is water resistant to 300m.
This Henley will be my ace in the hole for Xmas gatherings and New Year holidays. If I want to stand out and have an ice breaker, people will certainly be drawn towards this watch. Available in 3 other colours but this is my preferred one for something different.
ROTARY HENLEY AUTOMATIC GENTS WATCH
This Automatic Gents Watch is just a solid-safe but elegant looking watch that has incredible versatility. I have a lot of watches with a stainless steel bracelet and this one comes with a classic black leather strap, offering a comfortable and classic finish. I would wear this to casual events, client meetings etc. It's not a statement but nor does it need to be.
ROTARY HENLEY GMT GENTS WATCH
This GMT Watch is one from my personal collection. Stylish, sophisticated and cool, this Henley GMT Gents watch forms part of Rotary's sporty watch designs. I'm a fan of the eye-catching gradient red and blue bezel (pepsi bezel) and how those colours leap off your wrist. Rotary offer a very accessible price compared to other watch brands that offer similar aesthetics, but if you're looking for a solid staple on a modest budget, this is a great entry point.
ROTARY HENLEY GENTS WATCH
This Rotary Henley Gents watch has shades of brutalism fused with 70s retro. My mind leaps to LED Pulsar watches which are starting to come back into vogue. Clean and contemporary, its black dial with red markers allows this watch to stand out in modern elegance. Powered by quartz and water resistant to 100m, the Henley is a must-have for those seeking a masterpiece in sporty watchmaking.
ROTARY HENLEY CHRONOGRAPH GENTS WATCH
And to finish, a statement piece. Yes the yellow dial on the Seamatic will get you noticed, but this will get the tongues in your friends eyes wagging. A hybrid of both modern and classic design, this Henley is an intricate piece that features a metallic blue dial within a 42mm Stainless Steel case and brown leather strap. Two sub dials, a date window and second fixed scale allow for a sportier look whilst achieving precision in calculations.
