Racing Club Red: Fragrance Review

Today I'm wanting to finish up my reviews on the Racing Club Men's Fragrance coloured selection. In earlier posts I covered Racing Club Black, Racing Club Blue and now it's time for the headline act, Racing Club Red. The bottle:

A better bottle this time. A nice pillarbox red, ceramic bottle with sloping shoulders. The plasticky silver cap still feels clunky and the atomiser has a mind of its own, but it looks better on the shelf than its counterparts.

Opening:

Instantly I'm relieved. This is a much more promising and brighter scent than it's siblings. It certainly doesn't have the acidity of the BLUE, which was probably my worst fragrance of the year to date. It has a freshness to it, and a lovely citrusy push, reminding me of my souvenir shopping experience down the old back streets of Sorrento. There is a nudge of cranberry that doesn't bully its way in, and doesn't out stay its welcome. I didn't get much grapefruit and that's probably a good thing.

Settle Down:

I come back to the scent a few minutes later, and it's now ascended nicely into some collage of redwoods and amber. I'm transported to the hiking trails of Austrian lakes, where the water is like a mirror, cold and unfettered. There is also something circling like a buzzard, perhaps just a dusting of Magnolia I'm unsure.

Dry Down:

The woody notes slide into a touch of coffee bean like a glass slipper on a fairy princess. Its an effortless scent that I've really enjoyed wearing over these past few weeks. It's renewed my faith in frugal alternatives and of all the scents I bought from my haul at the strip mall, this one that I'm keeping for myself.

Where to Wear:

I'm wearing this to outdoor breakfasts.
